Weak wednesday for Filmdom

With majority of students available on summer holidays the collections would drop considerably especially on Wednesday because of the India Verses Pakistan semi final World Cup Cricket!

Right from 1 pm tomorrow till 10 pm all eyes will be on the televisions sets and theatre collection would further low is the calculation. Out of 850 theatres in Karnataka the houses where 10th standard students are there the TV sets will not be on but for first to 9th standard and I and II PUC the examinations are over. For 10th standard the examinations starts from 1st of April.

According to Gandhinagar calculations the collections in the theatre will be very low not only because of high interest generated Indo-Pak war on Mohali ground but because of holidays and festival season.

Already on the cricket playing days the matinee, first, second shows are getting poor attendance. But on Wednesday the hit on the film industry will be massive. Holidays have been declared in private institutions. Almost 50 crores plus Indian will be watching the television sets from 1 pm to 10 pm on Wednesday is the calculation.

In Bengaluru there are some attempts to screen the cricket batch of India and Pakistan in the cinema halls. It is a sure loss and it is an undeclared bundh for film collections!
