Ilayaraja is trying different again. The Isaignani will lend tunes for a musical play (‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf’, which is counted among the top five Broadway plays ever) that will be staged in Hyderabad soon.

Says Seema Azharuddin, the brain behind the project, 'We are extremely happy and proud to have Raja sir on board. He is the God of music and to work with him is a dream come true. Our joy knows no bounds.'

On how she managed to bring Ilayaraja to be part for the play, she says, 'We all know that Raja sir is always ready to attempt new things. I approached him through my mentor Ramesh Prasad and we had a long chat initially.'

If sources are to be believed, the maestro informed Seema Azharuddin that he needs to sit down with the team for three days to get a complete picture of the play. He would start composing immediately after the briefing session, it is said.
